Cocoa Krispies Choconilla cereal review

Stolen from kelloggs.comI was very close to giving up on my semi-weekly cereal reviews. Cereal ain’t free, and having to eat a whole box of cereal every week is bad for my diet.

Then I saw Cocoa Krispies Choconilla AND Rice Krispies with Real Strawberries — two brand new flavors — stacked together on an end cap at the supermarket. I could not resist. I had to try one of them.

I’ve always been amazed by how often a new cereal variety is invented by the food scientists and marketing geniuses at Kellogg’s, Big G, and the rest. I mean they come out with new shit every month. Sometimes it’s bad, but other times it’s great.
I chose to buy Cocoa Krispies Choconilla. Big mistake.

Choconilla is awful. It’s just frosted Krispies, but some of them are brown. There’s also this artificial choco flavor that tastes and smells like leftover Tootsie Rolls from Halloween 1998. The thing is, regular Cocoa Krispies taste so much better because they use real cocoa and semi-sweet chocolate. This Choconilla garbage doesn’t… it’s all artificial. Why Kellogg’s, why?

My advice: buy a box of regular Cocoa Krispies and a box of Frosted Rice Krispies and mix them yourself.

Well me and my brother ended up eating choconilla this morning for breakfast and came across this “blog” somehow…. but we totally disagree about what he/she said. Choconilla is the best cereal that makes the roof of your mouth soft as can be with chocolate rice krispies, and vanilla white rice krispies. So in other words opions aren’t the same so why don’t you try this cereal to have your own opinion.

Why would you want to? It tastes awful. Anyway, I bought mine at a Vons in Southern California. It might not be available in your region yet.

I tried Choconilla, and I completely agree with you. DIS-GUSTING! It tastes like it is coated with some kind of chemical. I was able to finish the bowl after I let it sit in the milk for a little while, as it seems the milk washed some of the chemical-y taste off, but then the milk tasted nasty! I ended up dumping it down the sink, and throwing the rest of the box away. I don’t think it’s like Fosted Rice Krispies at ALL. I love those. These… were an abomination to cereal.

Could you please forthwith cease and desist using the S*** word on your blog? It’s unbecoming of a popular blog to stoop to using this language and does nothing for my appetite and reflects negatively on your prose.

I dont care what any of you say… Its JUST cereal, is it the best, NO. But is it the worst, NOT BY A LONG SHOT.

They do test markets you know for these flavors, and majority of the people tested LIKED IT, otherwise it wouldnt be on the market.

Do I like it.. I dont think its as good as Chocolate Pebbles, but I do like it…Its not as bad as it sounds.

Its available at Vons and Safeway currently in all areas of California. I know that.
